DISCUSSING OUR FAITH

I have heard people say that we are not to discuss religion because it is a personal matter. Is that true? Let's see what the Scriptures say. As always I go to the Scriptures.

Colossians 1:28

Whom [Messiah Yshua] we proclaim, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man mature in Messiah Yshua.

2 Timothy 4:2

Proclaim the Word. Be ready to do so during moadim [Eternal Feasts of YHVH] and at regular times: reprove, rebuke, exhort with all patience and teaching.

Then we have the most important saying from our Savior Himself in

Matthew 28:19-20.

Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, doing baptism upon them in My Name; teaching them to guard all things, which I have commanded you. And see, I am with you always even to the end of the age.

The above verses do not suggest that we are to keep our beliefs to ourselves. We are to proclaim it in season and out of season. We are to warn, rebuke, exhort and teach.

But, I believe that it is so sad that people say we should keep our beliefs to ourselves is because they do not really have the ears to hear what the Ruach [Spirit] is saying.

Hebrews 4:12 states it well as to why I believe they do not want to hear you talking about the Word.

"For the Word of YHVH is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing between the being and the ruach and between the joints and marrow and bone, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

The Word of YHVH  is convicting as to cause your spirit and flesh to war against one another. Your spirit wants to believe. Your mind and flesh wars against it. A lot of people do not want to look at their thoughts and intents of their heart to see what YHVH would say about their hearts.

Jeremiah 17:9 states "The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it?"

Why? Because 1 Timothy 4:1-2 states "Now the Ruach says expressly, that in the last days, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons of hypocrisy, having their conscience branded with a hot iron..."

2 Timothy 4:3-4 states "for the time will come when they will not endure sound teaching; but after their own lusts shall they add for themselves teachers tickling the ears, and they shall turn away their ears from the Truth and shall be turned to made up stories.."

areas for tickling of the ears is that UFOs will come to save us or that we will be raptured to heaven before the Tribulation Period. But that is getting off on other subjects.

Psalm 26:2

Examine me, O YHVH and prove me. Test my mind and my heart.

2 Corinthians 13:5

Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.

If you are in the faith, and want to truly please your Father in heaven, then you will want to have Him examine and prove you. You will want Him to test your mind and heart because you do not want any sin to be between you and Him.

If you are in the faith, you will have the desire to want to share with others how they can  know that they can be saved. You do not want them to miss out on eternity with YHVH.

Also, someone who loves the Word will want to share what they learn with others.

Acts 4:19-20 states "But Peter and John answered and said to them, 'Whether it is right in the sight of Eloah to listen to you more than to YHVH, you can judge. We just cannot stop speaking about the things which we have seen and heard.' "

1 John 5:11-13 states "And this is the witness, that YHVH has given to us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life and he that has not the Son of YHVH has not life. These things I have written unto you that believe on the Name of the Son of YHVH, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the Name of the Son of YHVH."

Yet, how can anyone know that unless someone tells them that?

Romans 10:14-15 states "How then shall they call on Him in Whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a proclaimer? And how shall they proclaim except they be sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of them that proclaim the Good News of shalom [peace]?...

Religion is man-made and divides people. But, we should discuss the Scriptures. Even then, people have different interpretations of Scripture. But, if it is done in love and patience, there will be unity or agreeing to disagree.

Until later,

"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the Only Eloah,

be honor and glory forever and ever. Amein!"

1 Timothy 1:17
