THREE WISE MEN?

 Matthew 2:1-2

Now after Yshua was born in Bethlehem of Yahudah in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men {astrologers} came from the East to Jerusalem saying, "Where is He Who has been born King of the Jews? for we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."

Hmmm... does it say how many wise men or astrologers came to worship Yshua? No, it just says that wise men came to worship Him. It could have been more than three....

We have believed that because there were three gifts of gold, Frankincense and myrrh that there were only three wise men... But that is not necessarily true. There may have been only three wise men. Then again there could have been 70 as far as we know as in the Sanhedrin....

New International Version {NIV} Note: {Nearly Inspired Version  :o)

Possibly astrologers, Prophets from Persia or Southern Arabia, both of which are East of Palestine.

Guess we will find out for sure whether we were told a lie about this or not when we enter the kingdom!  It isn't really that big a deal, I guess. But, just check your Scriptures a little more closely and see what it really says and not go by what we are told from the pulpits....

"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the Only Eloah,

be honor and glory forever and ever. Amein!"
