Wherefore, does the Scriptures say that SUNday is the Sabbath day?

The verse Christians use that SUNday is the proper day of worship is

Acts 20:7 which states "And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight."

The Restoration Study Bible Note states The phrase should properly read "And upon the first of the...: The word "week" in the Greek is Sabbaton or Sabbath {Strong's Greek Dictionary). In Word Studies in the New Testament, M.R. Vincent notes, "The noun Sabbath is often used after numerals in the signification of a week." The Greek text behind this phrase, therefore, literally reads, "And upon the first of the Sabbaths," and refers to the first weekly Sabbath in the seven-Sabbath [seven-week] count to Pentecost.

When is the Sabbath day?

You count 7 days forward from the first sliver of the moon. Then another 7 days brings you to day 14. Another 7 days.... 21 and the last 7th day is the 28th of the month.

Each month, the Sabbath will fall on a different day. The Hebrew month falls on the last half of one month and the first half of the following month on the Gregorian calendar that we use.

Not everyone is able to keep the "Lunar" Sabbath because they must work to support their family. So they usually keep Saturday as their Sabbath day.

But if you can, it would be good that you keep the Sabbath according to the correct time frame. There are different views on when the Sabbath should be celebrated, but the Lunar Sabbath sounds most logical to me.

Stop and think about it... If the Sabbath falls on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th day of the month, then how can it always fall on Saturdays with the Gregorian calendar? They can't.

Get your calendar and go through the months to see how many times the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th fall on a Saturday!

I checked it out a few years ago.... From 2,007 - 2,013, the 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th days only fell on a Saturday one to three times at the most during the year.

If Saturday was the correct Sabbath day, then the 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th days for Sabbath would ALWAYS fall on a Saturday! But they don't!

"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the Only Eloah,

be honor and glory forever and ever. Amein!"
