WEARING A KIPA ~ IS IT SCRIPTURAL?

We see men from the Pope to the Jewish men wearing kipas that covers part of their heads. Is that true or another lie we have been taught?

1 Corinthians 11:4 states "Every man who prays or prophesies with his head  covered disdhonors his head." Verse 7 states "A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of YHVH..."

The NIV Notes states: The first use of "head" in this verse refers to man's physical head; the second refers to his spiritual Head [Christ]- or perhaps is intended in a double sense. In the culture of Paul's day, men uncovered their heads in worship to signify their respect for and submission to deity. When a man prayed or prophesied with his head covered, he failed to show the proper attitude toward Christ.

Given the above verse showing that in Old Testament times, that the pagans wore head coverings, a man ought not to cover his head....

"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the Only Eloah,

be honor and glory forever and ever. Amein!"

1 Timothy 1:17
