MY GOOD WORKS WILL GET ME INTO HEAVEN...

September 2,012

All of most of us have said that our Good Works or Deeds will get me into heaven. Then the other saying is "I hope my Good Deeds will outweigh my Bad Deeds!" We may even laugh and joke about it...

But deep down, there is this underlying fear that maybe our Good Works or Deeds will not outweigh the Bad.

This is another BIG, BIG, BIG WHOPPER of a Lie that the enemy of our soul has told us... YIKES! How many Lies will he tell? As many as people will fall for... What do we do then? Check out the Kadosh {set-apart} Scriptures first of all...

Although there are Good Deeds, let's see what the Scriptures have to say about Good Works or Deeds:

Matthew 16:27

For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of His Abba with His heavenly angels; and then He shall reward every man according to His Deeds.

The Restoration Scriptures True Name Study Bible Notes {RSTNSB} states:

Done as a believer.

Galatians 5:19-21

Now the works of the flesh are well known, among which are these: Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, indecency, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, quarrels, jealousies, rage, strife, selfish ambition, stubbornness, heresies, envy, murder, drunkenness, wild indecent parties and all such things: about which I warn you again as I have also done in time past, that those who practice such things as the way of their life shall not inherit the Kingdom of YHVH.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by unmerited favor are you saved through faith and not that of yourselves. it is the gift of YHVH; not by our Good Deeds, lest any man should boast.

RSTNSB Notes states:

Salvation is by blood atonement and YHWH's acceptance of the blood for our atonement. It has never been by keeping Torah...

2 Timothy 1:9

Who has saved us and called us with a kadosh {set-apart,holy} calling, not according to our man-made works...

Titus 3:5a

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing work of the Ruach HaKodesh {Holy Spirit}.

Revelation 20:12-13

And I saw the dead small and great, stand before YHVH, and the scrolls were opened: and another scroll was opened, which is the Scroll of Life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the Scrolls, according to their own works. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Sheol delivered up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every man according to their own deeds.

RSTNSB Notes states:

The White Throne Judgment is for the lost. It is not a second opportunity. Having understood that, then the reason that the scrolls are still opened, is to show mankind why YHWH is doing what He is about to do, even though He answers to no man. However, His justice demands that He shows His reasoning.

From the above Scriptures we can see that the works of the flesh will cause us to be thrown into the Lake of Fire and we will not inherit the Kingdom of

YHVH.

We also learned that it is not by our works that we are saved.

So how do we know for sure that we will go to heaven when we die?

It is a gift of YHVH which we must receive.

Romans 6:23 states that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of YHVH is eternal life through Yshua, the Messiah our Master.

Twice we have seen that eternal life is a gift. How do we receive that gift?

First off, we must admit that we are sinners and have sinned against our Creator.

Romans 3:23 states:

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of YHVH.

John 1:12 states:

But as many as received Him {Yshua}, He gave them the power to become the sons of YHVH, even to them that believe on His Name.

YHVH provided the way for us to receive eternal life when He sent His Son Yshua to die for us...

All we need to do is receive His gift of eternal life. We do not need to do anything to earn it.

But once we have received the gift of eternal life, we need to learn to start growing in our Savior. We can't stay a baby believer the rest of our lives.

Then our Good Works should show that we are saved by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh Who will be dwelling within us helping us to live for our Creator...

"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the Only Eloah,

be honor and glory forever and ever. Amein!"

1 Timothy 1:17
