WHERE DID THE WORD "BIBLE" ORGINATE FROM?

Another lie we have been told that the  Scriptures are called the "Bible." It may be considered a small lie, but it is a lie just the same.

Let's see what Diane Wilder states:

"Did you ever wonder where the name "Bible" came from? I know that I have been wondering a lot these days about some of our Biblical terms. In so doing, I have found a lot of pagan ties that we never even imagined existed in Christian circles.

For instance, where does the word Bible come from? The word was originally Phoenician, then passed into Greek, then Latin. It is not found in the scriptures one time. It was just put on the cover.

The name traces back to a Phoenician port city named "BYBLOS". The city was named that in honor of their fertility idol named "BIBLIA" who was highly worshipped there. The city was later renamed Gebal, which had their own idol they worshipped named "BAALAT GEBAL".

A shrine was also found in the city filled with objects commemorating the dead and idols of all different types of pagan gods.

The port city of Gebal (previously Byblos) exported papyrus, so scrolls came to be called after the name of the city.  This is not good since the city was named after a pagan idol.  So it was handed down on scrolls from Byblos to the word we have on our Bibles today.

God calls His scriptures the Torah (teachings), Nevi'im (prophets), and Kethuvim (writings).

So we have the Tanach [Torah] and the Renewed Covenant [Brit  Hadashah] named in YHVH's language of Hebrew, and the pagan oriented name of bible in man's language.

The Hebrew word for scroll is Megillah.

Which do you think would be correct to call the word of God?

So it seems like even in the bible's family tree there seems to be a few nuts that got dropped in!"

END OF ARTICLE

I would take you to the Bible, but as Diane said, you will not find the word "Bible" anywhere in the Scriptures! It only appears on the cover of our Creator's Scriptures!

"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the Only Eloah,

be honor and glory forever and ever. Amein!"
