I NO LONGER NEED TO CONFESS MY SINS, BECAUSE JESUS FORGAVE MY PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE SINS
July 2,012
I have heard people say that since we live in the age of Grace and Jesus died for our past, present and future sins when He died on the cross, that we no longer have to confess our sins. Is that true?
1 John 1:9-10, which is a NEW Testament verse, states: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness... If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us."
It makes it pretty clear to me that the Apostle John is saying that we are to confess our sins if we want to be cleansed from all unrighteousness.
When we say that we do not sin anymore because we are forgiven, then we are calling YHVH a liar and His Word is not in us.
I did not say that! The Apostle John said it...
I know that when I went through a difficult time for about 5 years, I did not confess my sins. I felt burdened and weighed down. It was not until I started confessing my sins again, that I started feeling cleansed and whole.
Hebrews 10:22, also a New Testament verse, states: "Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water."
Why would we not want to confess our sins so that we will experience the cleansing of our soul being washed by His Word and Blood?
I hope that you will start confessing your sins.
"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the Only Eloah,
be honor and glory forever and ever. Amein!"
